This role involves shaping transportation strategies, managing third-party logistics providers, and ensuring freight operations are efficient and compliant with safety standards. A strong understanding of carrier negotiations, compliance documentation, and systemized processes is critical for success in this fast-paced operations role.

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Select, manage, and oversee 3PL partners and freight brokers
  • Monitor shipping performance and ensure on-time delivery for all shipments
  • Analyze freight charges, billing errors, and transportation costs
  • Coordinate inbound/outbound shipment schedules and optimize shipment planning
  • Manage freight claims and serve as main contact for transportation communication
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards for all assets

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or third-party logistics management
  • Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Proven ability to manage carrier relationships and shipping contracts
  • Highly organized with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety protocols (DOT regulations)
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments
  • Ability to create and interpret transportation performance reports and dashboards
