The Injection Molding Engineer, Plastics Manufacturing, optimizes processes, ensures quality, and resolves production challenges. This role combines technical expertise, hands-on testing, and client collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.
As the key interface between product development and client needs, you will leverage your knowledge of polymers to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance injection molding processes. From designing experiments to managing lab operations, you will drive continuous improvement and ensure consistent, high-quality outputs. Your background in chemical, mechanical, or polymer engineering will support customer-focused solutions, involving both hands-on testing and effective communication to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Research and implement cutting-edge injection molding processes and technology
- Provide on-site technical guidance to clients, resolving issues and optimizing production parameters
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to set up new equipment, create SOPs, and maintain a safe, efficient lab environment
- Conduct advanced analyses, including CAE (Moldflow) and experimental testing, to improve product outcomes
- Develop and deliver technical seminars, training junior team members and collaborating with sales and customer service
- Communicate regularly with headquarters to align on technical roadmaps and future innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical, Polymer, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years in injection molding or thermoplastics processing at OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
- Demonstrated experience in mold design, mold maintenance, and CAE analysis tools (e.g., Moldflow)
- Solid understanding of thermoplastic materials, residual stress analysis, and rheometer use
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-department environment
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to provide customer support and solutions
